My Ex-wife's wedding dress!

I LOST MY PASSWORD TO THIS ACCOUNT

so excuse the hiatus.

Anyhoo, this is just a short post to apologise for that and also introduce the wonderful blog 'My Ex-Wife's Wedding Dress'. It's basically about how this one guy is finding 101 uses for his ex's wedding dress. It's no scorned husband's revenge, but a positive outlook on a healthy divorce, and something I definitely suggest checking out.

Let's do our make-up!

Hey everyone :)

It has become apparent to me lately that I am OBSESSED with make-up. Not just in a casual everyday way, in a 'I have to know what she did to look that good' kind of way. So I have done a little research and figured out a good basic way of achieving a simple, pretty eye. All you have to do is pick the colours!

This is a picture of your eye. This comes from Temptalia.com so be sure to check the site out for further information. Also, the writing on this copy of the photo is quite fuzzy so their website might have a better version.

Okay, so as you can see there are many different parts. These different parts are important as utilising them can make you eyes appear wider, brighter and all-together nicer.

The main objective is to emphisise your natural beauty- so the look I'm showing you is quite neutral. I personally have green eyes, so my most used colour palette is mostly purple.

You can google what colours suite your eye colour best. I suggest trying the more subtle options first and then test out other looks as your skills improve.

Now, the first thing to do is apply primer to the eye area. I use Urban Decay Primer Potion, but, living in Australia, it is a massive pain to get. A good option for Australian buyers is visine eye drops- strange, I know, but you can also use it as a fixer to turn eyeshadowinto liquid eyeliner.

Once you eye is nice and prepped, reach for your highlight colour. This can be any pearly white or beige or just any light colour. Lightly dust over the whole lid using a reasonably fluffy brush.

Next, cover the whole lid area with your base colour- a colour that you have in three shades. This would be the lightest one. Use a flat eyeshadow brush- you can pick these up at priceline or even coles for a very reasonable price. Press the shadow into your lid.

When finished with that, grab your small fluffy brush and place the next darkest version of the colour into your crease. Then, taking that same brush, grab the darkest colour and put in on the outer corner of your lid. slowly start blending it up into your outer crease.

At this point, you eye might look a little bit sill with the harsh lines cast by the brushes. To fix this, grab a clean fluffy blending brush, or just clean the one you had, and blend, blend, BLEND!

To really brighten you eyes, get that highlight colour again and highlight just under your brow and also the inner corner of your lid. If you think your up to it, load up an angled brush with the colour used on your outer corner and line your lower lash line.

Finish by lining your lashes, waterline and tightline in black, brown or any colour that you feel compliments the look. Don't forget to apply mascara.

And that's it. Feel free to e-mail hannahyep@live.com.au with pictures and stories about how you went.

Other Blogs?

Like most of the net-obsessed, I am constantly reading blogs that both entertain and inspire me. Here are some of my favorites. And by favorites, I mean I actually smile when I see the titles in bold in my Google Reader.

The first two are actually sisters. Their names are Blair and Elle and they are make-up Gurus on Youtube. Despite these similarities, their style of writing is quite different.

Elle is almost twenty two and lives at College. She has been updating her blog quite sporadically over the last couple years but recently has been updating a lot. She covers both make-up type tutorials and reviews but also personal vlog which I LOVE.

Her blog is http://allthatglitters21.blogspot.com/

and if you want to check her out on Youtube, she has both a personal channel and one for makeup and beauty.

Blair is her younger sister. Blair is almost 17 and brand new to the blogging scene. You would not guess that though, because she has a very good understanding of her audience and what they want.

Blair's blog is http://blairfowler.blogspot.com/
She also has both a guru and personal channel.

Continueing with youtubers, I think my absolute favorite blog would be that of Hayley Hoover, better known on the internet as Hayleyghoover. Her blog is one of the wittiest, most intiguing and fun materials I have ever read.

Please, do yourself a favour and follow her

Other blogs that I am an avid reader of are italktosnakes, Honey, I stole you're jumper and My digital life
